    British light cruiser from the 1920s. Had an experimental twin turret later on that was used to test out the configuration for later British cruisers.

    No where near as famous as the American aircraft carrier from the 1930s.

    And neither are as famous as the starship named after the latter of the two.

    Not to mention "Enterprise" had already been used as a USN ship name since the first couple decades of the United States' existence, and CV-6 was the seventh USS Enterprise by that point... and they're actually planning ninth USS Enterprise (CVN-80) right now...

    Oh, and if you say "starship Enterprise", keep in mind, they've shown at least 7 different "starship Enterprise"s in the shows and movies, just off the top of my head.

    Capt. Picard: Let's make sure history never forgets... the name...'Enterprise'!

    Don't forget OV-101 Enterprise, which was actually named after the starship.
