Part 2
Story bt ABitCracked
When they’d been planning the operation, Linda had heard that there were ‘precautions’ in place to keep their targets from escaping, despite their strength and skill and magic powers. Whatever they were, they must have worked—none of them were any closer to freedom, even after hours of struggling and squirming and trying to untie each other. (The one exception was the girl with the purple hair, who had cried herself to sleep instead.) All their anger and fear at finding out they were going to be sold off had slowly turned to hopelessness. The room echoed with exhausted sighs and defeated sobs.
But in Linda, what had burned even hotter than her fear and her anger, what ate away at her like acid, was envy. All these other girls—they had friends. Friends who would come looking for them. Friends who’d never give up on them, no matter what. What did she have?
She was estranged from her family, which was a polite way of saying they hated each other’s guts. All the evil masterminds and crime syndicates she’d worked for had tossed her aside like trash as soon as they didn’t need her anymore—this one included. She couldn’t think of a single person who cared enough to call her by her own fucking name.
Nobody was coming to save her. Nobody would even notice she was gone.
She stared down at the ropes still squeezing her legs, even after hours and hours of trying to get them off of her. She was so used to running away. She had run away from her shitty parents. She had run away from the cops, more times than she could count. She had run away from all the losing fights she’d had with Nepgear and her friends. Running away was the only thing she was any good at, and now she couldn’t even do that. This time, all she could do was cry.
