i am slightly confused how both the parent pokemon come in only female genders, like, what would they breed with if normal rules applied that says species must reproduce with a member of their own genus
or something like that

Theres a real life species of lizards that's entire male population was killed. Guess what, the Female only species lives on. They just found a way to reproduce that involves 2 females.

Two things.
1) Think less about this subject. Your mind will stop hurting. 2) They're not real. Okay?
One more thing...You you have a twisted mind to consider the dynamics of Mice and 'eggthings' having intercourse and to conclude that they should not be able to do it.
IIRC the egg it has in it's pouch is not a normal egg used for reproduction, but a means to either restore the pokemon's own health or that of other pokémon and even people.
