Pyjamas are Indian, and consist of a cotton jacket with matching trousers, or as they would have called them in English in the 18th century, drawers --- nothing to do with underwear.
In America ( mostly ), both in private and public, people wear Onesies, which are an all-in-one form of pyjamas. They still have leg-pieces.
