I can't translate the wall-o-text, but I can provide a little historical background to explain her quotes: USS Sailfish was the raised, repaired, and renamed Sargo-class submarine USS Squalus, which partially flooded and sank due to the failure of her diesel engines' main air induction valve during a test dive off Portsmouth in 1939. Twenty-six of the 59 men aboard drowned in the after half of the boat, which flooded completely within minutes; the rest survived in the dry forward compartments until they could be rescued two days later. It was, I believe, the first time survivors trapped aboard a sunken submarine could be successfully rescued.
Because she was brand new and not very badly damaged in the sinking, the boat was salvaged the following year, refurbished, renamed (but not given a new hull number), and put into service. She survived World War II, was considered but not used as a target for Operation Crossroads, and was scrapped in 1948.
