Satire aside this topic really amuses me. Flat earth believers think the round earth is intrinsic to science (read atheists) and a lie by the NASA and other governments. If they could prove NASA is lying, the existence of god, or at least whatever is written on The Bible, then that will automatically assure the earth is flat without further ado.
It's like the ideas of "NASA lying / god exists yet Earth still round" or "NASA is correct / god doesn't exist yet Earth is in fact flat" possibilities couldn't ever be. So they can't trust made up knowledge by humans, yet they trust made up god words wrote on a book by humans? And they wonder why no one takes them seriously.

I always saw it that way as well. That this is less about a belief they hold than a denouncement of what they think is circumventing religion. They think that science is trying to make religion obsolete when in fact all science is doing is trying to help humans understand their world. That are parts of science that clash with established religion, but to outright deny something simply because that clash exists and not because it's been disproven is really kinda silly.
Still, there are better places to argue that point and at the moment I want to see big-tit Hecatia welcome me to hell while wet.
In as much as anything else that resulted from the human ability to try to make sense of the universe is made up. Like say, any form of morality or ethics. And anything claimed to be verified by "science." Ah, you know what's also made up? A reality with no deities. That's actually pretty bogus when you really think about it.
Also, quick tip: atheism ain't scientifically sound either. An unfounded claim is an unfounded claim, regardless of what it asserts.
