man she's Chuuni... thats why man if Chuuni I wouldnt imagine Darkness actually do it... Maaya Uchida, Rie Takahashi seems to fit more into that role... though Maaya Uchida is the more natural typecasting for the Chuuni role (she did voice Megumin in the Drama CDs just for the extra kicker)

Something about incomplete ship with various crippling technical problems, had a lot of unfortunate incidents because of them, got scuttled then re-floated only for her to reportedly hit a naval mine and then ended up in scrapyard.
Her entire faction in AL seems to be on the edgy side, but whether there's a plot-related explanation for that, I have no idea.
