    Reading the last page I half-expected the author to play this tired trope straight (having Mahiro groping Momiji) or subverting it with nothing echii happening.

    Looking back I really should've expected this subversion of the trope instead (as well as the further subversion next page). Well played nekotoufu, well played indeed.
