The commentary says that if we were to look at her from the front as she does that, we'd be able to see her panties.
I would not call that a gameplay mechanic.... that is more reserved for an action or cause and effect directly referring to a mechanic in a game. It is a reference so Antinomy of common flowers should replace it and it has been done before to boot.
