As the newest class of destroyers before WWII, she and her class were equipped with Mk37 radar and fire control.
Sims's life on the battlefield was short. She was sunk by air attack when escorting the oil tank in the battle of Coral Sea. Only 14 of her crew were saved.

Anyway, she was a very gentle and lovely big sister. She loved everyone!
