Shame that people don't like Fate as much as Kancolle.

I'm fairly certain that's a quirk of this board. Trust me, the FGO subreddit is busy as hell. I keep meaning to bring over more translations, but I always end up side tracked.

Pretty sure FGO is the most popular genre right now, and that's the case on Pixiv. Danbooru is just somewhat slow to adapt.

While your samples are kind of biased ("in FGO subreddit no one talks about KanColle so FGO must be really popular"), the Comiket circle tendencies show in fact FGO is a bit more popular than KanColle.

I wish I had the time for FGO fandom so I could see more than "the n-th alter of Saber". I know it's more than just that. What I'm glad is Touhou while stable is still decreasing, we don't need yet another doujin of Remilia Scarlet even if I was fan of them 10 years ago.

The Comiket numbers are skewed though since FGO doesn't have nearly the amount of genre-only events that Kancolle has (Even discounting the Hourai Gekisens, there's a large number, all around the country). (Although there's no denying that the amount of Kancolle doujinshi has decreased and FGO's has increased.) There's also a good amount that never even gets samples put up on the internet.

Also, through an entirely cursory look when I was last at Comiket, Kancolle still has the edge for longer-form (especially over multiple books) story doujin at the moment, though I will admit that they're really pumping out 4-koma and short-form FGO strips these days, in addition to the large amount of artbooks.

While I certainly enjoy playing FGO more than Kancolle (I've been playing FGO since day 1 even!), I enjoy translating Kancolle more. Plus, even if I started translating more FGO here, I'd have to constantly check over on reddit to see if someone else has done it there already (no sense wasting effort); and on top of that, I've seen stuff get translated again even when it's already been done on here - if that's due to not being aware (as some people seem to really hate having to mouseover boxes, and will only read it when it's typeset) or maybe they just don't like the translation here - it still dampens one's enthusiasm to translate somewhat...

I imagine that has to do with folks reading on mobile/touchscreen-only devices. I know that it's certainly easier to read typeset stuff when I'm stuck using my phone, but with mouse, I prefer the mouseover.

I never considered that side of things. I suppose that having a super-active fanbase can be a problem sometimes...

For what it's worth, it seems like this series hasn't been noticed/picked up by the subreddit. Maybe the art is too rough for them...

There's a subreddit for Kouji's FGO manga. If you post a link to this series there, maybe it'll get noticed.
