And the American ship implemented count is now 5 - 1 battleship, 2 carriers, 1 escort carrier and 1 destroyer escort.
All we need now is jus' Johnston and Fletcher to fill in the destroyer category, a cruiser - I would say USS Houston for this category jus' because it's considered FDR's favorite ship, carriers - Enterprise and Essex, battleships: North Carolina and Missouri and subs - Tunny - sank I-42, Cavalla - sank Shoukaku, Darter - sank Maya and Atago and heavily damaged Takao, and Albacore - sank Taihou, and dreadnought Texas.
hmmm.....I was kinda hoping she'd have a more determined persona. Just something to counter Gambier Bay's cowardly persona. She should be the type of ship that abuses anyone who tries to bully Gambier bay. But that's about it. Otherwise, she looks great
Comparing this art with the other zeco stuff on danbooru makes me think KC's image resolution is too low and needs to be improved on. The quality difference feels pretty distinct.

The best Sammy B is the one from Kant-o-celle quest
Scrawny, pint-sized, blue hair up in buns. I'll take "Things I wasn't expecting in a US ship," Alex.
A very welcome breath of fresh air though. She's adorable!
She's a destroyer escort, which was basically a frigate, so she's a smaller class than a destroyer. Hence, it's just to be expected she would be Coastal Defense Ship-sized. (I.E. grade-schooler.)
Pretty good, I'd echo preferring a somewhat harder edge to her personalty, but the design itself is good. The rigging in particular looks great. Letting her become "Fast" with only one piece of equipment was also a nice little nod to her actions during Samar (since they didn't expect to survive anyway the engineers closed the safety valves and ran the steam plant at overload for the entire battle making over 28 knots vs her normal rated speed of around 24).

Kaiboukans are one size category smaller than DEs, so it was really funny when the English-speaking part of the community chose that hull code to represent them. Even funnier when the alternative that people incessantly argued for was PF, which was also a lot larger than any kaiboukan.
The JMSDF reclassified one IJN ship into DE after the war (and used that code for frigates, like you said), and it was not a former kaiboukan

Well, Destroyers are middle-schoolers, and Coastal Defense Ships are grade-schoolers, so there's no real middle ground, but people generally want to emphasize that the DEs are smaller than DDs. It's not a perfect match, but putting DEs on par with the Coastal Defense Ships rather than the (true) DDs makes sense. (And the PT boats are already basically infants/toddlers...)

Same as putting an escort carrier with light carriers *coughgambycough*

They can't be middle-schoolers. Some of them have the "assets" of a legal! ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Historical note: the medal she's wearing from her left shoulder is the Navy Cross, which is the U.S. Department of the Navy's highest award for valor in combat.
USS Samuel B. Roberts herself did not have a Navy Cross, as it is not a decoration awarded to units or ships (unlike, say, Gangut's Order of the Red Banner); rather, I assume the character wears it in recognition of the actual Samuel B. Roberts, the ship's namesake, who received the Navy Cross posthumously for the action in which he was killed (in 1942, during the Battle of Guadalcanal).

Forgot Sealion (sank Kongou) and Archerfish (sank Shinano)
