If this is a reference to a match at the world cup, would the "recent events" pool fit?
But I don't know if it is, I don't watch it. It just kinda looks like it's refering to the world cup

I cannot watch soccer because seeing those little prima donnas faking injuries for a freebie goal kick makes me want to get in my car, drive all the way down there just to smash their unsportsmanlike faces in the door of said car. Why is it that the closer a soccer team gets to the equator the bigger lil´bitches they become? Play the goddamn sport for fuck sake.

Looks like a reference to Neymar simulating fouls at the first two Brazil games. Her first pose (with the hand at the knee) looks very similar to a photo of him in the match against Switzerland

    American basketball tho.

It's not fair to say people don't get hurt in these games, because they can get hurt, but flopping has become such a plague in some of these competitive sports. It genuinely bothers me to see grown men feign harm to tease the judgement of the coach just so they can squeeze extra points for a victory. How disgraceful can a person be?!

I feel like it wasn't always that way though. What changed?

The stakes is higher than it was in the past.
Players now has more things to think while doing their 'jobs' of coordinating with other 10 and driving the ball into the goal: now they need to think about how to please the sponsors, when to switch teams for better profit, who to target when fouling to deter the opposing team's progression, how to get free penalties by overexeggrating potential fouls, how to slip in some harassment to other players undetected- you name it. Basically the more this 'game' progress more of this shit going to happen, because most of the new players has forgone 'sportsmanship' and 'pride for nation' into 'seeking money and fame'. Older players only compete for the first two, money and fame comes third or even last.

The simple answer is that you have more to gain than to lose by doing it. There's no penalty for getting called out for faking, but there's a reward for passing it off convincingly. Past that, it becomes an arms race - if everyone else is doing it, and you don't do it better, they're getting an advantage in a sport where you need every possible advantage. Hence, the game's incentives are to out-crybaby the other side.

By contrast, American Football goes the opposite way, and a lack of calling penalties has made highly aggressive play that skirts penalties because getting a sack or even outright getting an injury of an opposing player does more to win you games than the penalty will do to harm your odds of winning a game. Hence, the incentive is to push the rules as far as you can get away with it. That's when you end up with players being outright offered bounties to injure other players.

It only stops when you change the incentives by creating a new rule that lays out a punishment for that kind of behavior strict enough to disincentivize that behavior.

Yeah, but the Twitter comments even guessed Neymar. She's only wearing the JP team jersey because the artist felt like it.

Or maybe because the Brazilian team wore blue in their second match. I don't know. (Did watch that match BTW.)
