To be truthful in my whole life in Britain I've never seen Jellied Eel. Nor other eel.
It's one of those myths associated with the old cockney working class of London in around the 1880s to the 1950s when they mostly died out; along with whelks, cockles, winkles and rollmops ( pickled herring ) and any other sea trash I'm sure Japanese would enjoy. Some people will still eat such things but you generally won't find it in your corner-shop.
You won't be finding many Hungarian shipgirls around.
FYI: When Hungary was part of the Austrian-Hungarian empire it HAD a navy ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Austro-Hungarian_Navy ). It fought in WW 1 and disintegrated with the rest of the Habsburg monarchy. There was the Tegetthoff-class of battleships. I'd like to see a Viribus unitis shipgirl.

Nice (especially the dolmanlike jacket with fur trim)! But a battleship with four triple gun turrets portrayed as a little girl? In Kancolle she would be a grown woman with big breasts...
What, not even eel pie? It's mainly due to the collapse of the eel stocks from overfishing and pollution, though.
Paradoxically, though a natural sequence, one is more likely to find old working-class favourites only in the more upper-class supermarkets now, and hipster shops, having been been abandoned by the working-class. And prices to match.
Just as if the 1950s American TV-specials were to become gourmet delicacies in the future.
"You are really spoiling us with these pineapple slices in Lime Jell-O and Mayo, Ambassador."
Ta-daaah!Seems you're wanting a premature death, aren't you...It's the British speciality:
