Bowser typically kidnaps Peach. Bowsette is "masculine" compared to Peach's "feminine". Role reversal is a popular trope, Foe Yay even more so. It really does more or less write itself. They're right, too- I've already seen a few comics where Peach "takes charge" as it were.

This makes sense in the "Peach is a self centered egomaniac".
I mean, she is being attracted to someone that looks almost identical to her. ^_^,
Keep in mind that she's only attracted to herself in these particular lines of fanon. There's also the Mario x Bowsette stuff where Peach is either dumped and jealous, or just plain doesn't care that the men in her life just went off to bang each other and leave her alone. (Or maybe she went off to go bang her secret true love, Daisy or Rosalina or Toad or someone?)
In canon, Peach has done basically nothing besides bake a cake, go on a (supposedly "much-needed") vacation once (in spite of NEVER being seen doing anything like actually administrating her kingdom), participating in every single go-karting, tennis, soccer, and other sporting event in the kingdom alongside her supposed serial kidnapper on apparently friendly terms, and shouting "Help me, Mario!" a lot.
There's plenty of fanon theories for this (including that all the kidnapping is just her own form of kinky threesome role-play sex fantasy, and she actually likes Bowser, but only when he's in his "villain" role), but that's all just fanon.
Canon-wise, outside of maybe Thousand Year Door, she is a total cypher that is utterly devoid of personality, functionally being little more than a humanoid trophy for the alpha males in the series to compete over. (Although even in Thousand Year Door, her actions and speech are basically all multiple-choice from the player, making her personality partly choosable by the player.) The reason for this being that she's either not considered important, or that the developers are going for the ultimate expression of lowest-common-denominator character design, and just making her a pretty girl you can project whatever personality you want onto.
As I've said in other comment threads, this probably has a lot to do with why Bowsette is so much more popular than Peach - Bowsette has an actual personality, which instantly makes her more interesting and therefore attractive than (canon) Peach. Mother's Basement did a video on how Aqua gets voted to the top of "best girl" lists in spite of being deliberately designed to be the worst girlfriend imaginable because outsized personality, including massive (yet humorous) character flaws leaves a larger positive impression on people than any trait that people would find pleasant to be around in real life.
In fact, part of what makes these comics so interesting to me, personally, is that she and Bowser actually have speaking lines in Japanese, which I've never really encountered before (since in official products, Nintendo "deodorizes" Japanese cultural references). Peach speaks with typical "ojou-sama" high-class polite speech most of the time. Bowser, meanwhile, speaks in a dialect that is new to me that seems to be somewhere between low-ranked yakuza punk and the way a feudal lord would speak, and refers to himself with "wagahai".
