I'm sure that by this point, they just scoff and say something about dying in a fire. Kouhai has been throwing around things people would take sexually basically non-stop (to the point that sexy saleswomen have no effect because they're so inoculated against sexual posing), especially around her sempai. Yeah, the third commentary literally calls it "sunken kotatsu", which is described exactly as such (a low-lying table with a hole underneath).
