Well since there is no 'th' sound in Japanese alot of times 's' or 'f' get translated to 'th' if the translators like the sound of it

Yup. 'Aerith' just doesn't seem right to me, though. I wish they had kept it as 'Aeris' in every other game she was in (Crisis Core, Kingdom Hearts, etc.)

"Balthier" does sound better, but with "Aeris/th" I could go either way...

Actually his name IS Balflear in the original Japanese game. westerners thought is sounded stupied and it GOT CHANGED to our version of the game to Balthier.
