Her best course of action is to let the kid ago, as much as it'll hurt her. Jalter is already overkill, and dealing with the extended family only piles up on those odds. At least the kid can return to mama safely without getting the wrong impression from his kindnapper.
Considering this is the dark version of Jeanne (created by Gilles in case you forgot), I sincerely doubt she knows the meaning of the word.
Her actions as a mother in this comic imply to me that she has eventually learned the meaning of the word... though perhaps only as far as it pertains to her husband and child(ren).
