Really should not allow one person to be able to dictate if a comment can and cannot be seen. Most people will never upvote a down voted comment regardless of what it says.

I have set my viewing ability of comments down to -9000 threshold so I can see pretty much all negatively voted comments just fine. So have a lot of folk. My guess is that due to some of your other comments in the past, which were, to be fair, pretty dickhish, you have gotten a bit of a bad reputation.
Though tbf, your complaints in the image with Shangri-la didn't paint you in a fair colours either, neither does your rep on twitter or on reddit. Folk either regard you as a bigoted arsehole or a shitlord/troll.
But that is just an observation on my part. I have seen fair share of your comments where you are being completely reasonable (which seems to be the majority of the times) but at times you write in the kind of way that appears to be deliberately provoking people to react negatively.
Hence my assumption is that your rep is very bad due to that, even if you don't seem to write things in that fashion all that often.
But negative/harsh comment tend to stand out in people's mind a lot more, so this negative reputation of yours will likely persist for a while.
