Yeah. I remember going to a mall here some weeks ago. This mall used to have an internet cafe, not exactly popular now since the internet is so accessible nowadays, but back then places like those were everywhere. I was just starting out in high school when that particular internet cafe was around, and that's maybe around a decade and a half. Now it's gone, replaced by some sort of VR arcade thing.

My mother has a power like this. When I was younger, there was a time we went on vacation to the beach for a week, and when we came back, her favorite grocery store was closed down. Then, another time she went out of town for a week on a business trip, her favorite coffee shop went out of business. Then another time on a business trip, a specialty sauce store went out of business. Then it was a book store. It started to become a curse, and she'd tell me to go to her favorite shops while she's gone and buy something so they didn't go out of business from not having her there for a week.

I still live near the same city i used to go to school in. Businesses change hands, then they change hands again. Some storefronts i remember vividly, others i can't for the life of me recall what they even were. There used to be a gamestore that became a shop for sewing supplies (i was hella pissed about that) and now it's yet again another kind of store. It's not so much that i feel sad that the city changes, but the memories that are lost to time because it does sure feels bad sometimes.
