    When I was a middle-schooler, the student teacher that came had a short, boyish cut, so I think that's the reason. (Or she may have been a new teacher.)

    And the correct response is always 10 seconds of silence before just moving on.

    Had to enlarge the image and then zoom in more to figure out the other speech bubble question: her bra size. (Possibly bra style, but I suspect size is more likely.)

    Why Crocs, though...?

    At a guess: because student teachers are expected to stand and observe, and crocs are incomparably easier to stand in than regular shoes. It's known tech for restaurant workers and other professions where you're expected to be on your feet for hours at a time.

    I work in a hospital and crocs are pretty much the got-to footwear for most of the nursing staff there.
