  • Wedding day Unryuu

I'm getting married today! To a beautiful Japanese aircraft carrier. :D (Big Grin)

Unryuu has a special place in my heart, because after I got her in the 2017 fall event, the health of my black cat and my best friend started getting worse, and during my last few days with him I'd talk to him about Kancolle and Unryuu specifically. Like, "Hey Draba, Unryuu's at level 32! Just 18 more to go til I get that awesome 601st air division fighter plane." So Unryuu always makes me think of him.

Why is this considered "Poor Quality" may I ask?

I wasn't the one who tagged it such, but in spite of the time spent on details of patterns, the posing is still stiff and the shading seems rather flat. Look at the portions that don't have that pattern, like the shoulders or the windows, and it's really just flat area that has poor perspective. (Again, I wouldn't and didn't put "poor quality" on it, but that's just what I see.)

This is the sort of technique you tend to see with people still getting into using digital artwork - they draw the lines based upon a relatively stiff artistic model, then color them in, but don't yet know how to shade it. If this guy spends more time practicing, it'll probably look incredible, but he's not quite there, yet.
