As far as this pool alone is concerned, her last spotlight was on Nov 2014 and her last passing appearance was on Mar 2017. (It was right before the Hamakaze welcoming party by AuClou and 'niy. Coincidence?)

(I simply put together this pool's ID and Ooichi into the searchbox. Maybe someone more intimate with Kouji-sensei's overarching works can pinpoint a newer date?)

Just search for "kouji_(campus_life)" and "Ooi_(kantai_collection)" and you'll find that the last time she appeared in anything Kouji made was here, on December 22, 2017. So we're coming up on two years.

It bothers me a fair bit that Kouji seems to have abandoned his Ooi storyline. For that matter, he spends a lot of time just jumping back and forth between the same few groups: the manga crew, RJ and Akitsu Maru (sometimes joined by other carriers), the subs (usually revolving around something Maru-Yu has done), and Hiei and the admiral in his room. Actually getting Murakumo is a welcome change. But there are so many other characters that Kouji has done stuff with before, and has now seemingly abandoned.

I agree with you, while the current content isn't exactly boring it gets a bit monotonous after a while. I liked the arc with the crow a lot since it changed up Verniy's role a lot compared to how she usually is.
