Is that supposed to be the Kelvinprise, Discoprise, or an amalgamation of the original and refit designs?

Imagine if she really did get this as a retrofit for April Fool's. She'd solo the whole damn Siren fleet.

this looks really good though its more fitting if its the enterprise E the first star trek enterprise wasn't really build for a fight

False, the constitution class was a heavy cruiser and among the strongest type of ships in the federations arsenal at the time.
Yes, like all federation ships (until DS9 defiant) it was not a purpose built warship, but that doesn't mean it wasn't built to hold its own in a fight.

Except for some purpose built science ships, most federation ships are well armed and very capable in a fight.

That doesn't look like any version of the Enterprise I've seen before. For one, the nacelles are elongated so that they're higher than the main saucer and are pointing upwards at a 45 degree angle for some reason.

it looks like the artist based it off of madokafish's (I think thats his name my memory is failing me)re imagined version of the 23rd Century Big E with some from the JJ Abrams reboot thrown in.

Looks good this is the 2nd one I've seen. This and Neonbeat's Enterprise really work.

ok maybe you guys are right about fighting but seriously who design the engine placement? or hell even the bridge neck? any romulan with half a brain-cell would just aimed for those and the ship would be done like dinner, hell the enterprise E isn't much better the only difference its that it got more Armour, shields, and guns

hell should i also add in jj Abram's federation battleship? being just as stupid of a design as the others till defiant

I always found it funny that the series maintains Starfleet is most definitely not a military when they have enough firepower to end planets.

Defending yourselves and having a purpose-built warship are different things.

"self-defense" and "built with the capability to destroy planets" doesn't jive to me.

yeah sometimes its a bit weird, but Star Trek is presented as humans being a more idealized version of ourselves, sadly even to star trek fans like me I find it annoying. hence why I appreciate DS9 as it removed alot of that from the Federation, and it was more portrayed realistically as a galactic power that is run by people, who make mistakes big and small frequently.

When "exploring" has the probability of encountering borg tier spess nightmares it's common sense to start arming your vessels, heavily.
The whole concept of having generation starships with civvies aboard for exploring deep space and sometimes using them as a quick reaction force is absolutely ridiculous and totally wasteful in the first place. But it's a space opera, not hard sci-fi.

Having watched the new Star Trek picard, its sad that you're right.

Star Trek used to be about stories, with this undercurrent of idealism and us solving our issues. Now, Picard literally has the magical daughter of data attacked by Space Biker Romulans, for the Federation to decide to let the Romulans blow up because of a star magically going Nova.

I can't even type it out, its beyond retarded. People have this idea that its space opera, its fight scenes and "political commentary" in the most basic way possible. But the writers just go "its not hard sci-fi, its space opera, its not supposed to make sense!"

I'm watching all the series I know and love not die off, fading into obscurity, but instead become this horrific monstrosity that goes against the very body it is rotting.
