These character definitely have a lot of fairy features, but I wonder if they're also should fit the "elf" category because of the pointy ears, their extremely human-like appearance (being even actually human-sized unlike typical fairies), and their lithe frame.

They're referred to as dark elves and light elves (Dökkálfar and Ljósálfar)in-game, but i'd say visually the fairy tag would be more fitting for their overall appearance, plus pointy ears aren't uncommon for fairies.
