    I don't know about pantyhose, but at one of my old jobs which had a lot of hiking involved I was told that wearing nylon socks under layers of socks helped prevent sores or something.

    I've never gotten a blister while wearing liners under my primary socks, but I don't think that's really an issue for the rest of your legs.
