I'm not particularly fond of this critter (quite the contrary, actually) but...
"Kasha: This is a youkai that has appeared in Western regions, like Izumo and Satsuma (currently Shimane and Kagoshima), but sometimes it would be seen in the East as well. During funeral processions it would suddenly cause storms so violent they'd throw the attendants on the ground and knock off the coffin's lid. Whenever such an event would occur, people would believe the deceased had been possessed by the kasha (fire chariot), which was considered shameful, because popular legend had it that the kasha would come directly from Hell take away their souls as punishment for their many sinful deeds. The origin of the word "kasha" comes from Buddhism, as it was present in the Ingaikyo as well. In China and Japan there are multiple tales of men dragged away by the kasha. One of these tells of an old woman that was particularly loathed by everyone, who one time went to a public bath, but along the road a black cloud literally came down on her and took her away. People who know this story call that cloud "moryo", but on a closer look it might well be the doing of a kasha, which leads to think they might be the same creature. In most cultures it's believed that upon death the soul parts with the body and never comes back. Thus, many people believe the kasha is an evil spirit that lives taking advantage of abandoned, soulless bodies."
Ah, the good ol' "I don't know shit about proper composition, so I'll just keep throwing Photoshop filters at it until no white pixels remain" school of thought.
