This is must be The Rise of North Union patch.
I kinda like her design and her stone/bone-like material weapon.

I assume the artist is the same one who draw Sirius, Dido, Le Malin, and Formidable?

Pretty interesting to see that the modern USSR ships have this Ironblood-esque rigging instead of the normal ones seen on Russian Empire ships like Avrora. Hope the next announcement is a capital ship. Also, props to the AL team for a great way to foreshadow the Russian event by having Tashkent appear as one of the quiz minigame's subject.

Tashkent was built in Italy by Odero-Terni-Orlando so perhaps a nod to that, three more would have been built in the USSR but were canceled due to issues with building the design in Soviet shipyards and (I suspect) the desire to build a simpler design without paying licensing fees.

Most of the time it's going to be the KC designs that better appeal to the audience, especially to those who stick around, considering it's created by miliotaku rather than the general swamp of anime lovers that fill up the AL side (not saying there aren't a bit of both). A lot of people who are into shipgirls will generally have an interest in military things.

She's so cute though. Kinda not hot on the IB-like rigging. Not exactly what comes to mind when I think 'Blue Cruiser/Blue Beauty', but moeblob and fetish is what's first for AL anyway.

I'm a bit sad that there isn't any design references to her pasta origins.

Tbh even the other 2 dont. It is like Kongou build by the Brits but is totally a IJN ship.

Hence Tashkent is pretty much that.

Kongou got her fake horns, they're part of her hat.

Also it looks like unlike the others Tashkent's bundled up is she's used to the Med's nice warm climate and now is in the Baltic.

Not just any lack of reference to her Italian origins, but also, the fact that she isn't blue, or is a loli when Surcouf got to be adult-sized.

To be fair for the era she was built in Surcouf is a massive submarine.

I guess I'll wait for her younger half-sisters of the Capitani Romani-class... Attilio Regolo or Pompeo Magno, anyone?

FYI, the work done on Tashkent was used to design that class, although bigger, and therefore more difficult to classify; they went from scouts to light cruisers - forcefully - and then, postwar, to destroyer leaders.

She also has blonde hair (not a typical color among Sakura ships), a saber as opposed to the katanas her sisters use, and has mannerisms akin to an Royal Navy ship.
