No idea. The closest we can draw is it doesn’t prevent things going for it at least, since the “WaitForMe” rushed the elevator Arai-san was in. We don’t know if it can get in or not. As you said, nothing in the elevator itself to suggest anyone died in it.

Considering this is done from Masks pov, it looks like she pulled Map out of the way. I think that's her head we see below the arm.

While I don't think the anomaly would fully go into the elevator, there's nothing stopping it from dragging someone out of it if it thinks it has a shot at it.

Right, made the mistake of assuming the head was mask's not map's which doesn't make sense considering it's map's pov. orz

Could just be gut feeling. Perhaps she noticed the last word of the graffiti was smeared and sensed something was wrong.
