As far as I know there isn't any official word on their relationship, it's just shipping and fan theories, but the doctor does in fact have some backstory that's revealed during an event.

Its not a canon atm its something people picked up from Kal'tsit profile from the cn close beta test back when she was playable where the most important people to her are the Doctor and Amiya.
