The sign on the upper picture reads "tsuyu" (γ€γ), while on the lower one it reads "dzuyu" (γ₯γ), however I have no idea what those mean in Japanese.

γ€γ (ζ’ ι¨) is the rainy season, usually lasting from early June to mid-July. γ₯γ, as far as I can tell, doesn't mean anything; it's just there because it represents a small change in the sign, a bit like altering "the" to "fhe".
