    Chou⑨ (Cho-OKUU) no Yousai (Superfortress)

"How could Japanese shinto god, who has even contributed to the founding of Japan, fly the mortal enemy of Japanese people!"
But because Okuu is a typical type of person who cannot read the atmosphere, I dared to let her do it!
For now, I had finished all paintings scheduled to be publicized at the next event.
(For your information, the anecdote of Lucky Strike is an urban legend!)

The fact that the author is japanese himself doesn't help, but then again there's the Twin Towers loling fanart.

Need I remind you people that one of Japan's most successful characters, Godzilla, was originally inspired by the Hiroshima tragedy as a moral on the misuse of nuclear devices? The topic isn't taboo to them as 9/11 to us.

Someone tagged this image with "fat_man". This leads to pictures involving fat men. Now, I looked something up and it appears that the bomb Little Boy was dropped by the Enola Gay, not Fat Man, which was dropped by Bockscar. However, the bomb in the image looks like Fat Man and Little Boy fused together. My brain hurts. I'll just go ahead and remove the tag for now... but should there be a tag for the bombs themselves? I don't know if there are any other pics out there on Danbooru including them though.

    (Moved to Artist's commentary field)

Superfortress is written as "超空の要塞" in Japanese, but there is sometimes a debate on how to pronounce it properly between the two ways of reading, "Chou-sora no Yousai" and "Chou-kuu no Yousai." The answer is "Chou-sora" because the B-17 Flying Fortress is written as "空の要塞" and reads as "Sora no Yousai."

The urban legend of Lucky Strike is that the "cigarette named Lucky Strike started to be produced in commemoration of the nuclear bombing in Hiroshima."
The urban legend states that the name of the cigarette originated from the words utilized by the aircrew of Enola Gay, who succeeded in dropping the nuclear bomb.
The legend further states that the reason why the pattern of the package is similar to Japanese flag is because of that.
However, the truth about Lucky Strike is that it originated from the screaming of the miner who found a gold mine during the gold rush era.

The "Lucky Strike" word here is due to a Japanese urban legend that the Lucky Strike tobacco logo is supposed to represent the explosion of Hiroshima as seen from above:

That's an interesting Urban Legend. I say that because I remember one of the B29's that escorted the Enola Gay/Box Car (can't remember which one exactly) was called the Lucky Strike.

There needs to be a picture of Okuu being dropped from a Stratofortress with Orin riding her, Dr. Strangelove style.

There definitely needs to be something like this.

Indeed, the Fat Man's coloration was a pale orange, not the graphite gray/black the artist depicted. Spot on description by the way sir.

Wouldn’t lucky strike be more fitting for an Avro Lancaster dropping a Tall Boy or Grand Slam, since those were used to take out bunkers, bridges and battleships.
