Did they just use an eldritch abomination to get rid of another eldritch abomination?

Now that is smart thinking. I guess with Anomaly Otter out of the picture they're learning curve is uninhibited.

From the dialogue, it looks like they tried putting in a miniature weapon, and some miniature money, into the doll-house, and ended up with . . . NOT what they thought they were putting in.

I guess this makes sense, if they bring in their own stuff, the monster would have to somehow re-create it.

    Well that's a smart move.

Now that room is even hostile than before.

Aren't they violating their own protocol a bit by not keeping the elevator door open?

There's very, very good reason the Foundation doesn't typically do this, that being when two anomalies collide the results can be catastrophically bad.

That aside, trying to make counterfeit weapons and money using the room was a clever idea. Unfortunately, it was too clever by half and backfired.

Assuming they're using normal toys, there's only one anomaly involved here.

It looks like they broke into the Hell Area to bring back a "Jigoku-Friends-Thing". It would go with the red sky and the panicked Fennec.
Also, Otter squad seems cuter than usual. Haven't seen Mask sweat before.

Maybe they already checked the place before and saw its effect, and came back later to experiment with it, hence why they didn't bothered to keep the door open, which could had costed them dearly (and still might, if Mask doesn't manage to get away)

I think that they tried to see if they could use this room as a form of replicator, which would be handy to stockpile tools for the case they broke during an expedition, instead of having to buy new ones or using the cloning chamber to kill and loot the new clone, the same way they use said cloning chamber as a respawn point and the nap room as an emergency respawn point in case they can't reach the former, but obviously this room doesn't support such loopholes.

It seems that only the rooms that were modified by an unknown third party specifically for a certain purpose can be safely used (they have the room combination and words in an alien language engraved above the elevator door), so far we know of the cloning room, the nap room and the wish room.

Made me think of the game Eternal Darkness now.

Fennec wasn't the Friend who got spirited away here, it was some random Friend.

I was referring to the panicked Fennec we see from a smaller viewpoint, of what we might guess was this room.

Oh, that one. Actually, regarding that picture I'm wondering what might happen if one were to put one of the BIG dolls into the box...

I've seen it, but that's not Mask, Mask is the only one who doesn't have a headlamp.

Just occurred to me that the otter doll on the wall may be yet another way for them to revive themselves if they can survive to toss it in. At least it was before they screwed up and summoned some eldritch horror.
