Well, let's be honest, here - Yuuno is the only one likely to spend much time with Nanoha on a regular basis. Nanoha, Fate, and Hayate all work in seperate branches of the military, and all are workaholics, so they won't meet often (ref: beginning of Strikers, NanoFate comment on how it's been a long time since they've flown together).
Nanoha has an adopted daughter in Vivio, now, so it's most likely she'll change her working habits and schedule to spend more time with Viv. Yuuno works in the Infinity Library, but is free to set his own schedule, so he's likely to be around them, too.
Now, I'm not going to pick sides in a shipping debate - all official information gives zero shipping, except possibly Chrono/Amy and Elio/Caro - but after StrikerS, it does point to at least the relationship between Nanoha, Vivio, and Yuuno growing closer.
Personally, the first thing that popped into my head when I thought that scene over was that Nanoha named Yuuno as Vivio's godfather and lets him handle the babysitting while she's busy with work.
Even altering her schedule isn't going to let Nanoha be with Vivio all the time and Fate's work with the Main Branch seems to take her away from Mid-Childa often enough that she won't be able to help out with Vivio as often as she'd probably like. The obvious solution is to have one of Nanoha's oldest friends help out with daycare duty.
This is even supported in SSX; Nanoha comments that Vivio seems to regard Fate as more of an older sister, most likely because Fate's not around often enough to be "Fate-mama". At the same time, V's spending a good chunk of her time helping Yuuno out in the Infinity Library.
And the best part to me -- as a Nano/Fate shipper who doesn't have anything against Yuunoha -- is that this setup allows for a close relationship between all three (four, counting Vivio) interested parties without implying romance between either of the two pairings (Status Quo is God, after all) and possibly opening things up for the seemingly-never-considered possibility of a Harem Ending.
Thanks for the info, Comartemis. Good to hear a level head speak about it. My main info was logical inference, and a post-StrikerS relationship chart published in some magazine or other. Said chart listed the Nanoha/Yuuno relationship as "childhood friends" and the Nanoha/Fate/Hayate triangle as "close friends". Both "childhood friends" and "close friends" imply a certain closeness, but at the same time they also imply a certain inherent distance. It's nothing more than "friends" with them, and until official information states otherwise, it's never going to be more.
They're never explicitly put Nanoha in a romantic relationship with anybody; stringing along fans of multiple pairings with debatable subtext is apparently much more fun (not to mention it doesn't alienate anybody in case they make another sequel).
and that's exactually why most of you animesuki tards fail. You can't accept a homosexual relationship. You just keep throwing in yuuno as long as he is shown in the anime in one way or the other. Even though Nanoha x Fate is allready official. This picture is pure fiction.

S&T~
I'm sorry, but I have to laugh my guts out at the rampant ignorance in this post.
Firstly, as Magus pointed out the only official pairing in the Nanoha franchise is Chrono/Amy, and probably Caro/Erio eventually. Everything else is just ship tease.
Second, AS is about as homophobic as /u/ is. On the Nanoha forums alone we have a huge number of fans of Nanoha/Fate, as well as a host of Nanoha/Vita, Subaru/Teana, Fate/Signum, Caro/Lutecia, and Vivio/Syn shippers (Syn being a really popular original character made by one of the locals). And that's just in one series board out of several dozen.
Third, the ones who bash Yuunoha the hardest are the ones who are most afraid of it becoming canon.
But you know shipping wars turns to the ugly when you invoke Die For Our Ship (tropers ahoy). This certain pairing war seems to invoke more hatred towards each other than the chars...except of course, maybe it's all just waiting to happen.
Some fans turns into the reason of meta-socio-political reasons on why it's an extreme case of Hide Your Lesbians and/or this is a "Progressive" Magical Girl show and hence no Straight Option can ever be allowed (exceptions always apply to the Cute Shotaro Boy). And then we have people screaming about the denial of "pure, beautiful love".
In a nutshell, big words are said to describe relationships of 2-D characters.

Nah, most of us would probably just ignore it and keep right on shippin'. Ranma confessing to Akane at the end of Ranma 1/2 didn't do anything to slow down the other Fiancee Factions, and even Nanoha getting married to Yuuno won't stop the NanoFate shippers from doing their thing. It's only the extreme shippers who'd be doing the wailing and bitching and gnashing of teeth deal.

Being a NanoFate shipper myself, I can't say I really understand the hatred between these two factions. I don't really dislike Yuuno myself, but the NanoFate relationship -- whatever that relationship is exactly -- is so prominent in the series that it's really hard for me to see them as *not* being lovers at some point in the future. Yuunoha fanfiction/fanart doesn't piss me off like it does with more extreme shippers, but it does evoke a kind of Twilight Zone feeling; the sense that Something Isn't Right Here.
Maybe I just have my yuri goggles cemented on too tightly...

/b/tards, furries, and Jack Thompson all spring immediately to mind.
