If anything, things are now at a deadlock. The Democrat majority in the House is razor thin. Red State Democrats will have to play nice if they want to stand any chance of re-election in 2022.
With the Senate still in Republican control on top of that, don't expect much, if anything, to get passed for the next 2-4 years if it's not mundane like infrastructure or military.

I'll get downvoted but who cares. The results haven't been certified so there isn't a "winner" yet, calling it now is very premature.

There's wisdom in the phrase, "Don't count your chickens until they've hatched". You should probably, however, have a path forward if you wish to apply it in some way that rises above pedantry for the sake of stubbornness. Do you have something in mind?

Sure. Raise awareness that of all things to be done, voting is the most worthless. If I could denounce my right to vote in favor of people actually listening to me, I'd do it in a heartbeat.

But then there's the quandary - people might listen, but would they follow or care, and would you have the best ideas? It's a long, hard road, that much we both understand, but I'm not entirely sure you realize the difficulty. Prior to last week, doing what needed to be done was impossible; now, while it's still incredibly difficult, we have a chance to move forward. That is worth celebrating for a day or two.

Not to mention one of the consoling ships is Helena, who is probably one of Trump supporter herself.

Hard to say without voter statistics for the city. At minimum the mayor of Helena is currently a Democrat, but the county it is a part of is Republican. The difference though isn't super skewed in one direction or the other in the county, as the current voter count for this election has the county as 47% Biden and 50% Trump.
Though if you want to dig into the population statistics, Lewis and Clark County which Helena is a part of has a an estimated population (2019) of 69,432 and Helena has an estimated population (2019) of 33,124. Helena has about 47.7% of the population of the county then and that percent is awfully close to the percent that Biden got for the county.
No, he won. But the point of the picture is to show that there are no hard feelings and that we should let our anger cloud our better judgment. All Americans are American, even if you vehemently disagree with them.
They're crying because Biden is the projected winner. While people might criticize the media analysts making that call, they pretty much only do that when the odds of the vote count changing being statistically insignificant.
As for immediate changes, most of it will be hard with a split government, but removing the Trump appointees in places like Health and Human Services will ideally result in some fast changes for how at least the executive branch is operating.

True. America is still a mess and it's going to take more than 4 years to clean that mess up. But at least, Americans might get more politically good decisions, considering how Trump just up and withdrew from a lot of stuff that were investment with welfare of the US in mind.

I know. It's been so toxic. Remember the liberal/conservative tears meme? I have fammily members who I love dearly that don't fit the MAGA hillbilly stereotype.

It’s to be expected. After the last 4 years of constant antagonizing and division from both side, it would be a miracle if there wasn’t this much toxicity. Sadly, I doubt it would change since its been going on since the Bush Era(further even) and has just kept getting worse and worse, with neither side willing to come to terms with the other.
But just know that the ones that scream the loudest isn’t the true representation, that there are people from both side who proudly did their civic duties and did what they considered is the best for the country they love, that although having different opinion is still as American as the other person, just wanting to make a difference in being heard and willing to accept the current outcomes in hopes for a better future.
now this is not the end of it we know that Joe have "issues" and it was planned for him to be replaced as quickly as possible and they'll do this with the 25th amendment so that Kamala Harris can be president instead, there she'll continue what Joe have done but made sure she'll made sure that a top down command economy country where democrats would hold supreme authority for eternity, by packing the courts with their own party members
you noticed she makes it super sweet with the term "equity", what it really is she'll make sure there's equal outcome regardless of how much effort you put in, and of course in order to make sure that this possible big government and through it heavy taxation is required which is why Joe wanted to increase the tax to around 60% to ensure that the people would lacked the means to resist, and its also why its supremely important for them to have full control of the supreme courts, so they can reinterpret the american Constitution as they saw fit and ultimately override it in its entirety.

This is true.
So very, very true.
I don't believe in democracy, nor am an American; but there is virtually no difference for 97% of stuff in whichever pressie is appointed; they all follow the pattern.
The most swerving from the pattern that Trump managed was negative [ but good ] in that he was the only president to actively avoid War [ Old Obama the Warlord had 6 ]; but whilst Trump was unspeakable, Biden will go for the same 'Adult' tradition of loving bankers, cutting social benefits [ a la Bill Clinton etc. ] and Regime Change. And demonizing Putin. Who barely cares.
However unless we are in a country getting our minds changed with relentless bombing, most of us won't be affected in any way by whomever is president. And... America may be the strongest force on earth, but it is by no means that important any more: any individual in Brazil, Latvia, Gabon or Mongolia is just as important and worthy as any American individual. I wouldn't look forward to China being the World's Policeman, but they have just as much right to try as America [ or Britain ( to declare my interest )] and will be no worse.
. Whatever Trump's manifold errors, they did express true democracy in the fact the idiotic policies were what the inchoate American masses of the right did want, and were not what idiotic policies the neo-liberal mass media wanted them to want. Although having a majority of idiots scarcely legitimizes any regime.
In the end, pity it wasn't Sanders or Tulsi Gabbard; but the main thing is that it's never Hillary.
With the results so close and the political tensions going back to Clinton's second term, I can only see more of the same, but from the other side again. While it wasn't too bad during the Clinton and Bush administrations, it got bad during Obama's two terms and Trump's term. All the stuff I was hearing out of the Republicans for eight years turned around and sounded like, basically, the same stuff coming out of the Democrats for the last four years. I imagine I will be hearing the same again from the Republicans for the next four years.
This might be attributed to the Internet being a staple of the community by the time Obama became President, while it was still sort of new while Clinton and Bush were President. The venom might have been just as strong back then, but the web didn't circle it around to fever levels until late in the Bush administration (when more and more people were getting cable lines and DSL rather than dial up, and Youtube, Facebook, and other places started to exist).
Though we do have around 20 million more people voting this year than did in 2016.
The only way Trump wins is if there's fraud, and so far, there's nothing in that camp that sticks, everything has been disproven one way or another. It feels like people are just going to move goalposts until January at this point, and then conservative news will just preach FRAUD for 4 years like Liberal news reported "RUSSIA INTERFERANCE" for 4 years.
This isn't a recent development. The GOP has been pushing the narrative of widespread, coordinated voter fraud for years, because it gives them an excuse to enact measures that disenfranchise legitimate voters, e.g. purging voter rolls and shutting down polling places. Just look at what happened after the Supreme Court neutered the Voting Rights Act in 2013: Republican-led states across the country immediately began closing polling places and implementing voter identification laws, all in the name of preventing fraud. It's one of their favorite boogeymen.
So when Trump stands on a podium and claims — without any supporting evidence — that literally millions of illegal votes were cast for his opponent, his faithful followers believe it. It's an idea that has been drilled into their heads since before anyone ever imagined Trump would one day be president.
To be honest much won't change regardless who won, it's just internet exaggerating everything.
lol, sure you're right. Biden is definitely going to uphold human rights, continue to decouple America from China, and make sure fair and open trade can continue in the indo pacific region, pfft.
The more connected a people are, the easier it is for the flaws to show. You can't hide things like you used to, people have become extremely good at digging through the past. Which also makes it easier to attack others for their pasts. And with convenience comes laxity and apathy. People don't care anymore if they hurt others. It's so easy now to label someone an "enemy" just for having a different opinion than you. And it's difficult to change one's opinion. They say with age comes wisdom, but it also comes with sedentary. Past experiences may enlighten the mind, but also dictate how you feel, how you act. You become unwilling to think differently, and are so firmly rooted in your own beliefs and experiences that you think because you went through it, others should too. The popular phrase "Back in my days" showcases this way of thinking perfectly.
And truly, when it comes to politics such as the USA's, the two parties are named as such: Democrat (Liberal) and Republican (Conservative). To be conservative means to want to keep things the same as they are. To preserve and extend the span of what already exists. To be liberal is to be ever open to change, which is a scary subject for it comes with its own risks, as conservatism does. With change you don't know if it'll be positive or negative. But with conservatism, you have a sense of familiarity but also stagnation with an ever-changing world. The internet being a huge driving force in this changing world. The phrase "If it isn't broken, don't fix it" can also be applied here. If things are fine as they are, there's no need for change (conservatism). If things are not fine, they should change until they are (liberal). While they are opposing ideals, both are needed to sustain each other. Driving a divide between them by pitting one against the one is just a cheap, easy move for power without any thought for the future.
270 electoral college votes do, and if that can't be decided, the SCOTUS will.
12th amendment said:
if no person have such majority, then from the persons having the highest numbers not exceeding three on the list of those voted for as President, the House of Representatives shall choose immediately, by ballot, the President.
Technically the Supreme Court won't decide, the House will.
american politics are so fucking funny "My out-of-touch senile pedophile is better than your out-of-touch senile pedophile!" "No, our out-of-touch senile pedophile is the best out-of-touch senile pedophile!" just back and forth endlessly
You meaning going through the motions that all the other justices went through?
Never has a justice been confirmed so close to an election. Remember when Mitch filibustered Obama's pick for a year back in 2016 because it was an election year?

Which is all legal. Politically motivated, sure, but what isn't politically motivated in the government?
Just my two cents: may not be proof, but there is evidence. There is a difference. 234 affidavits is not something to be ignored, and some of those affidavits are backed up by video. And let's not forget, those 234 people are risking the felony of perjury.
Now I'm still not willing to call fraud, but what has happened is unusual. It should be investigated, if only to be on the safe side.
And for the record, not a huge fan of either candidate, but I believe Trump to be the better choice, but not by much.

You mean the 234 false affidavits that couldn't be used in court? Or the video that was debunked? Or the recanted statement from the postal worker? Not even trumps own lawyers are alleging fraud in court

They proved all 234 were false? Gonna need to see the source there. Cuz that's alot of people getting tried for perjury
Which video? There are several from election night and recent videos.
Yeah he didn't recant shit. He even uploaded a video about it saying that was false. He's sticking to his guns.
Yeah I'm aware the fraud suits are not by trump's lawyers, but If he can prove the anomalies tipped the election in bidens favor and he wins re-election, the outright fraud accusations will probably come after (although that's not likely, remember he said he would go after Hillary clinton and ultimately didn't).
