iirc, Aerith hits people with a chair during FF7R, which prompted comparisons with wrestlers that do the same
People might've thought it was just a matter of time until somebody drew her with a wrestling-like outfit rather than her long dress from the scene where it happens
During the raid on Don Cornaro, the event is now scripted to have cloud always win so Tifa and Aerith have to beat up his goons and Aerith wields a folding chair since she didn't have one of her stalves with her.

Scripted event reducing the variations of the event? That's a minus.
But it's bound to happen, kinda hard to keep event variations when using all the memory in high graphics, audio and animation.

I think it was more that typical players would work to get all the best items for Cloud's outfit, making it the most common outcome and viewed by most fans of the game as the canon result. No reason to maintain the multiple outcomes if players are going to aim for the prettiest Cloud 99% of the time anyway. They made up for it with the multiple events leading up to the final confrontation, imo.

Now that FFVII has bestiary chevos, people have been failing it since there are 3 enemies that only appear if cloud fights Cornero's goons.
