The actual Hood isn't nearly this stuck-up and self-centered, though. Why is she the only person in this comic that can't get along with everybody else.
I wonder if Little Renown had to use a spotter or remote sensor to see or get an accurate firing solution on the target at 20 km. At least they are letting her do stuff on the base rather than having her just sit in lodging until QE got there.
20 km is getting to the limits of practical range for a battleship and shipgirl guns essentially have to have an accuracy buff to be able to hit a man-sized target to be able to work against their primary enemies. Take that however you will.
Heck, not even other sunken ships are THAT triggered. Even Akagi is calmer and more collected during her assuring to Enterprise about She and Kaga sinking.

I'm willing to believe it's because only three of Hood's crew survived. Probably carries a lot more hatred than most. I imagine to her it's about as aggravating as something actively chewing on her body parts and she's not allowed to get away from it because it would be frowned upon. So she can only bitch about it.
pfft. I don't think she deserves such a kinky humiliation.
And also on a positive note, that is one smug little Renown. And I do believe she is also one of the smallest in terms of the kiddie sized ships, with little Illustrious being the smallest.

Either that or the fact that before her sinking she was pretty much the pride of the Royal Navy and all it took was one lucky shot before suddenly half of her was just gone. Her reputation and prestige was pretty much turned on it's head and kicked into the dirt, dying a laughably pathetic death for a ship of her status. Hood hates Bismarck because of that.

A little late to noticing this, but just to put it out there, you mean 20 miles(24 max) or 32 km(39 max). 20 km is 12.5 miles, still impressive, but well within comfortable range.

Maybe for land-based targets but for naval targets, you aren't hitting shit beyond about 12.5 miles because of the maneuverability of the targets and the travel time of the shells. Warspite and Scharnhorst's records are at about 14.8 miles but they are just that: records.

Not to the Marines. The US Army qualifies its rifle expertise out to 300 yards, the US Marines extend this range out to 500 yards. 600 yards if it's competition. The Marines value marksmanship to such a degree that a single Marine's annual qualification amounts to a much more than significant value when it comes time for promotion. I've seen Marines lose out on promotion from Lance Corporal to Corporal and from Corporal to Sergeant based on their performance at the rifle range more times than I care to admit. That's the context here and to be fair I can't expect everyone to understand that's what it is right off the bat.
Anyway, this is why the General decorated Little Renown. It wasn't about records, it was about ability. They went through the effort of setting up a training environment for her with a set of expectations and she exceeded them. That's all this is.
