"Graduating"? More like getting left hanging out to dry.
Considering the shit some of Hololive north Taiwan girl's was doing, I'd say it for the best off them all. Even if we need to say goodbay to uninvolved one's like Civia, Yogiri and Spade Echo.

I'm not really up to date on what was going on within the Chinese Hololive branch. Would anyone be willing to elaborate?

Hololive's China branch has difficulties maintaining their virtual YouTubers because of the Chinese government's censorship of media, banning YouTube and the Chinese government forcing the branch to disband due to 2 of their VTubers thanking a big amount of Taiwanese viewers for watching their videostreams on BiliBili which they disallowed to happen because of the political issues of mainland China concerning Taiwan.
Really kind of hit hard finding out it was her birthday too. Not to mention finding this so soon after her stream..
Not really, considering she was the one to choose this date. I wouldn't really call it "sad", considering she's gonna graduate within the month either way so it wouldn't really make sense to try to set up a celebration party just to graduate a few days later.
Better just make today(18th November) a special day for all things Civia at once, so people will remember her.

The other guy's explanation is kinda wrong. This all started when Akai Haato did a stream where she was looking at her Youtube channel analytics and it showed Taiwan listed as a country. Kiryuu Coco then did an Asacoco where she also showed her statistics and yet again Taiwan appeared as a country, and so Chinese nationalists got all angry about it and unleashed a shit storm on Hololive and Cover. This caused both Akai Haato and Kiryuu Coco to be suspended for two weeks, and it made a lot of Chinese and international fans angry for different reasons, and it just spiraled out of control from there. Bilibili (China's equivalent of Youtube and NicoNico Douga) hosted most if not all of the HoloCN girls and some of the regular Hololive girls also had accounts on Bilibili and they had some sort of agreement with Cover. So, Bilibili and some other Chinese companies then decided to terminate their relationship with Cover and that was the last straw for Cover, so Cover decided that it was not worth it keeping their CN branch alive, so they pulled the plug.

The rub is, the analytics skewed to Taiwan in asia because a lot of CN hololive fans and antis use *illegal* VPNs to watch their youtube streams... and the closest network to West Taiwan is... Taiwan. So they got mad at Aki and Coco because *they* broke their own country's laws. This is coming to bite several CCP anti's asses since several have had their SCS negatively impacted by the government after a mild investigation.

Still , much of the antis where also anti-japan too , and has a hand on a lot of stuffs, from Towa get harrassed due SSB community, to Mel , to finally a hand on the sudden graduation of Aloe. Some even speculate they had help from people inside the japanese community, more specifically on NND due Cover corp. partner up with Youtube as well.
It saddens more the fact how much people think Civia and Yogirl were the ones who really worked more for her channels , while Artia was getting flanked for some accussations (who i still doubt they were true as well from my point of view , despite someone give some "proofs") but still maintain just "stable".
From one point the whole ordeal was a mess but for other it makes now relatively easier to avoid any attempt of future problems.
Edit: Also props to Yagoo. Despite all the shitstorm, he went extra mille into congratulate her and shout out the last stream on his own twitter account. This one is rare since Yagoo never did that before exept to congratulate any of the other girls for a millestone.

The graduation of the CN branch was tragic, especially for YAGOO, who, despite being shit on a lot by the JPN talents, is like a father to all of them in a way, so him being around for their Graduation streams makes sense.

Also hopes for a Civia-Aqua collab will never happened now. Since it was Civia's greatest wish.

Except that VPN is legal in China. How did you think expats in China communicate outside of China or some Chinese celebrities (including Hololive CN) have officially recognized Twitter accounts? They do, however, need to use VPN services approved by the government.

> Using government-approved VPN > That logs activity > And hands it to the authoritarian government
Whatever kind of idiot that's doing the above isn't the same kind of idiot that's watching youtube and getting mad at people saying Taiwan

^this here. Even if there are government approved VPNs, Youtube is still banned in China, and knowing how demanding the CCP is, the CN talents more then likely had to get governmental approval to get a twitter account.

That, I was only correcting the statement that VPN is illegal
