I just realized that scavenger's hands are different here which could mean that anomalies are simply beings or parts no longer bound by the rules of that or similar worlds. Which makes the elevators especially interesting considering it's the only known "safe zone". (it was still shown to be subjectable to corruption and anomalies are shown to be willing to go to the elevator if it's open) Although if were to assume that Anomaly Otter's introduction page was how she actually looks( and not the author cutting corners) and assuming that this is her backstory something may happen in this reality.
Scavenger either believes in the will of the individual - that even if you're a clone, you shouldn't just throw away your life for the "original" - or there is something way worse than what we already know about the cloning room. And if this is A!Otter's origin story, finding that out might be the turning point in her actions.
On an unrelated note, Scavenger closing the space off like a curtain is pretty cool.

I think it's the fact that for one person cloned, there are dozen of others that are crushed to death because dealing with so many clones is inconvenient, and Scavenger is horrified by how the Giant Otter team casually routinely murders dozens of people with their own will (because obviously for her each clone is their own person) just to continue their game of exploration.
I remember in the page that introduced the cloning chamber that there were two contradicting translations of the author's notes about why the other doors were sealed shut:
one was because each chamber created a perfect copy and that having so many perfect copies was dangerous in and of itself (as the copies could start fighting over who's the "real" one)
the other claimed that only the unsealed door could produce a perfect copy and that all the others produced clones that came out very wrong
These last two pages and the one with the Giant Otter clone army killing the Anomalous Otter mentioning in the artist's comment that they unsealed the doors to make said army so fast makes me conclude that the first translation that was the correct one.
On a side-note, it's interesting how despite being implied to be partially corrupted and not all here in the head with the whole talking to herself thing (although the previous page implies that there's indeed something else talking with her), Scavenger is the most moral of the Friends "in the know" of the apartment complex's mechanisms, she makes a perfect foil for the Elevator girl which looks normal but whose deep knowledge of the different anomalies and apparent enjoyment in toying around with them hints to a more sinister nature.
When I look through these comics again, the Cloning Room is, by far, the scariest thing I've seen this whole comic. There were many things that were full of horrors unknowns, but the Cloning room is just a simple well-understood machine. I know exactly how it works and what it costs to use it. The sight of blood spraying everywhere, dozens of innocent Herbivore-chans getting crushed with such force, to turn into pulp. All but one. The entire room is red. Is it worth doing this even to yourself?

"It took courage to climb into that machine every night, not knowing if I’d be the man in the box, or in the Prestige."
She...
she never even told me her name...

WOOSH
It seems we can't become friends.
...But the one dying is just me anyway...
...Yes.
That's right.
It's a shame.
Ah..
a shame.
It's a shame.
