Too bad it was such a short lived design. It would have truly been a revolutionary step forward in gun design. Plus the Black Ops implications of it were amazing.
BTW, the rest of the months for this Calender are awesome too.
Not to count the fact that people at NATO were and still are way too conservative and dont want to change nor adopt new cartridge types. So pretty much any gun that doesnt follow NATO STANAG, is dead on the western market.
The West Germans were planning to ditch NATO standardization and adopt it anyway, but then the Cold War ended. After the reunification of Germany they had to fix the former East Germany's crappy economy and couldn't afford replacing all their rifles with something so expensive.
The design flaws had pretty much been fixed already.
