See: Ottoman Shishana Rifles c. late 18th century. Could be a Musket (unrifled barrel), but most were true Rifles (rifled barrel). Note: A very, very small quantity of N. Indian Toradar Muskets were made on this pattern as well during this period. I also found 1 unsubstantiated mention of a Scottish Parlor Gun (pistol) allegedly made to this pattern, early 19th century. Citations are pretty sparse, would need to hit the library tomorrow for anything solid.
