Problem is that Rex NEEDS Pyra and Mythra to have a moveset, but they didn't need him and now have a whole moveset.
Well, he's still got Anchor Shot, Sword Bash, Rolling Smash, and Double Spinning Edge. Yeah, Pyra is his Blade, but if you remember he wasn't always a Driver and had these moves before meeting Pyra.

Rex has like three dozens other named characters he can partner with if they use the Rare Blades. And that's even before getting into the generic ones. Rex could totally get in with a different moveset.

I can see them playing with this if he becomes playable in the next game. His neutral special would function similar to Shulk's and he could pick between other Nia, Elma (unless she too becomes playable) and three other blades :D
