Being able to remove articles of clothing is important to setting the mood of a scene and character. Take the coat off, suddenly casual.

Wrong era of uniform.

It continues to bug me that there still isn't a series set during this period... but considering how most Star Trek media is nowadays, perhaps that is for the best.
