Probably unintentional, but there's a second layer to that connection. There's a well-known book about the Battle of Midway called Shattered Sword, and it was the carrier losses at Midway that prompted the IJN to convert Shinano from battleship to carrier.

It literally says "I drew Archerfish for Azure Lane", what more do you need.

Yeah no, I'm removing those artist_request/check_artist tags. The tweet straight up says he drew her and she's in his fully rendered style, as opposed to his sketching style.
