    If you think the wagie life is bad in America, you should try it in Japan. Excellent service on customer side = having to work at 120% as an employee, even when you're paid like shit. At least in the US you can get away with a bad attitude.

    Its thoughts like this that make me wonder if any retail-like & non-luxury company has found a good balance between the expectation of good service, good employee pay, and business profits. I'd say Costco but I don't actually know how much they pay their folks.

    It's often said "You dont quit a bad job, you quit a bad manager.". If your boss has your back, even the shittiest retail job can be okay. Provided it actually PAYS enough to cover your living expenses.
