I only recommend Evangelion if you are a teenager and you feel depressed nor with no purpose on life. When this anime came out they were called "emo kids" in a dark past. Today you find them as "no binaries", "furries", "feminists", "MGTOW" or any other group that feels artificially opressed and heavily driven for political interests at a teen age.
That and FLCL were some weird s**t that made me question the content I watched and even made me quit anime for some years.

Obviously Evangelion and FLCL. Not telling they aren't great in their own way, I'm only saying everything turns into a different view after you watch them. And just when I decided to watch anime again Elfel Lied came out. I took another two year rest and also quit shounen genre forever. And that is my history of how I got into Touhou and by extension on this site.
