STR class make best thief. STR class no need to pass DEX skill check. If they notice me pickpocketing I use STR to bonk them on the head, they forget. Same result, so me no need DEX.

There was a 3.5e D&D character build that uses STR for casting (Yes, I CAST FIST with a literal CANCER MAGE involved). I'm sure there must be a build out there that swaps out DEX for STR when pickpocketing.

Never even a need to, just roleplay yourself to be a street/forest thug.
Bonk them on the head and just empty their pockets while they're out.
