    Odd that it's in there though, I definitely remember reading that they, or Remi at the very least anyhow, can live in the daylight just fine. They're just not able to use their full power. In fact, I'm pretty sure that in one of the - I believe PCB - endings, Remi shows up at the Hakurei shrine to have tea with Reimu.

    What's Sanae doing in there by the way?

    Remilia requires a parasol to shade her from the sun. See also: SSiB, in which her wings start smoking after a while in the sun with no shade.

    Traditionally Japanese was written vertically, right-to-left. I'm not sure if it would be used like this, so you end up with only one character per column.
    Horizontal right-to-left also seems to have been in use for a very limited time.

    Well, that's all I can say.

    Horizontal right-to-left was in use until World War 2 ended. After that, it was switched to left-to-right (which is what's used now). The Hakurei Barrier was put up sometime in the 1800s, IIRC, so the older form (R2L) would have been used.
