Inspired by this post of @kirnx-art , I made this “what if…”

⥥Headcanons and more under the cut ⥥

Ryoba is holding the knife in the other hand but I didn’t realize it wouldn’t be seen until I made her sketch

❐ Observing her body language Ryoba dismissed it. Sumire never seemed to be a good actress, less to someone who pretends everyday like her. Deciding she wasn’t a threat to get senpai’s love, she hid the weapon back in her pocket.

❐ The grey-haired kindly rejected Sumire, reassuring the redhead that she didn’t have a negative opinion on the same-gender love and telling her they could stay as friends if she was okay with it, which Sumire agreed.

❐ Sumire had made up her mind about the impending rejection and brush it off to not make her friend feel guilty, although she cried that night at home.

❐ After this Ryoba would ignore her, but with the police around after the first murder at school she would use Sumire to maintain her sweet schoolgirl facade. How could she commit a crime when she’s with her friends in another place?

❐ Ryoba approaches Sumire after the second week with the act that she wished to spend time together. The gullible girl is unsure of it due her thought that Ryoba only does this because she’s a sweet person and pities her but accepts.

❐ Sumire soon realizes Ryoba’s feelings for Jokichi, and supports her friend fiercely. Believing Ryoba would do the same for her like a good friend does, she tried her best to help her, whether it was talking about romance or distracting someone like Aishi asked her “to be alone with the boy”.

❐ Playing friends and excusing herself to “do something” to get rid of the competence became the Aishi’s routine, without realizing she started to feel different about her initial target. She enjoyed her company.

❐ But when she finally defeated the ten obstacle she’s upset. That day she’s going to confess to senpai and make her dream come true, why she’s not excited about it?

❐ The moment of the detention Sumire witnessed the police arresting Ryoba. She volunteered herself to testify on behalf of the accused, completely sure of her innocence.

❐ After the trial Ryoba had a breakdown. She couldn’t confess to Jokichi with all that happened.

❐ Her confession was interrupted, and she even knew why she didn’t want to be by her senpai’s side anymore. The dream she pursued since kid seemed empty to her.

❐ Without signals of her for days Sumire went to her house. When Ryoba saw her something made click. She felt how she was back with Jokichi’s presence.

➸ General headcanons

❐ Ryoba waited for a Friday to confess to Sumire properly, this time fulfilling her dream of confessing under the cherry tree.

❐ Sumire never held a grudge against Jokichi, but she didn’t like him either. Her opinion was neutral until she saw how many girls were drawn to him in matter of days; initially only fearing he could break Ryoba’s heart and worsening when some girls around him found terrible fates or were mysteriously gone.

❐ Sumire suspected that Jokichi was the killer of the only girl they found dead, unaware the detective do caught the real killer.

❐ Sumire’s parents were surprised she hadn’t told them before about her crush on a girl. They never imagined she liked girls but they were happy to see her with someone who made her smile like that. And they still think Ryoba is a lovely woman.

❐ Ryoba’s family was unfazed by this: boy or girl or both a lover is a lover. Her mother was glad she got away of any suspicions and her father… Well, he’s brainwashed to love his wife so he doesn’t have an opinion of anything.

❐ In order to have biological children I imagine three ways:

• They decided to use IVF, being the pregnant one Ryoba because Sumire was a bit scared of giving birth at the moment. Later they could have had another baby with Sumire as the biological mother. I find this option compatible with the last one
• Sumire is AMAB (AFAB as Subaru), she got her top surgery and she waited to have at least one baby before getting a bottom surgery. Ayano/Ayato would be biologically from both so they could get a change in their color eyes/hair.
• Ryoba would have gone to Saiko for an alternative where the baby could have both her and Sumire ADN; they’re top in everything, if someone could do that was them. They had to wait until the founder’s son was in charge of the company since Saisho was a conservative man with a strong dislike for the lgbt collective (Yeah I hc him as lgbtphobic). That’s how the Aishi made a deal with Saiko Corp., although it’s unknown what he asked in exchange.

❐ Ryoba/Ryosuke is likely bi/demi while the Sumire/Subaru of this AU is homosexual/pansexual.

❐ Ryoba is 8-10 cm taller than Sumire, even as a boy Sumire would still be slightly shorter than her. Ryosuke is around 180s cm. An example:
