Oh, sorry. Seem to have missed one. As far as my Japanese
go, it can be transliterated to "zenbei ga naita" and looking around, apparently it means "All-American Cry". I won't add it in because I'm not sure myself.

"All of America cried". It means "completely uninteresting".

Supposedly from the Japanese poster for the movie Pearl Harbor, which claimed that all of America cried watching the movie, even though it was really boring. I forgot where I read that.

Do you know what "all-American" means? The difference between that and "zenbei" should be obvious.

I had to use a combination of dictionary and online translator. While I didn't see "zen" (until a few seconds ago) and I know "bei" is used to refer to America (ie: Beikoku). So no, I didn't. I had to have Google Translate tell me what "zenbei" is suppose to mean.

It translates to "All America cried." This is apparently standard Japanese ad copy for Hollywood movies, utilized in commercials, trailers, posters, etc.. It's short for "This is such a fantastic, deeply moving work that all America cried," basically meaning, "It will move you to tears." However, the phrase is used on Japanese message boards essentially to mean "I know how you feel" or "I cried" when you feel sympathy to a post.
